I'm a Sr UX Designer / Software Engineer with 8 years of combined experience in web and mobile design, design systems, user research, and software development. I am passionate about creating empathy-driven designs that prioritize users' needs and help them to focus on what is important to them.

Observe & Understand. Understanding the needs of the user is crucial in producing great designs. As a user advocate, I find that there is always something to learn from them. For example, contextual inquiries have enabled me to understand user pain points and the external forces that can influence their day-to-day work.
It's All in the Foundation. Design systems are foundational for any enterprise as they provide a single source of truth for designers and developers. Having worked on a design system team, I have gained a deeper understanding of how components function at a molecular level and how they can be utilized in various ways to create design patterns.
document.write("Hello World!"). Having a foundation in UI development has given me the ability to collaborate more efficiently with developers. Additionally, I can identify potential technical constraints during the design process. Possessing both skills is truly the best of both worlds.

As someone who loves to collaborate, I particularly enjoy working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and hearing their perspectives. Changes Happen. As a highly adaptable individual, I am always prepared to respond to new changes and challenges that may arise at any moment, regardless of how close they may be to the deadline. My ability to remain nimble and flexible in the face of unexpected circumstances allows me to approach each task with confidence and a can-do attitude, knowing that I have the skills and experience necessary to overcome any obstacle that may come my way.
How can I help? I am truly passionate about helping others, and I believe that supporting one another is one of the most important aspects of our work. It's not just about meeting the needs of the end user, but also about creating a supportive community within our organization. That's why I feel that supporting and teaching one another is so important. When we share our expertise, we all benefit and can grow and succeed in our roles.
My interest in exploring a career in tech began during the Myspace era 🤓, when I was first introduced to HTML/CSS code snippets. This led me to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Arkansas.
After becoming a UI Software Engineer, I discovered my passion for creating user experiences. To further pursue this interest, I completed a certificate in Interaction Design from the Nielsen Norman Group and made the jump to my UX Design career.
When I'm not at my desk, I enjoy traveling and immersing myself in different cultures. I'm also a huge fan of progressive metal music and love attending concerts whenever possible.
